Gonna B Alright [Bandcamp Digital-Only Release]

there have been periods in my life where I felt the need to push myself towards new boundaries, nothing necessarily experimental, but something very different from my usual approach. the last lockdown period we experienced in Italy, from March to May, coincided with one of these periods. maybe the lack of live performances, perhaps the fact that I was, and I am still, missing a physical contact with my audience and the dance floor as well, led me to make musical choices that privileged the emotional side instead of the groove and, didn’t disdain pop influences somehow. 'Gonna B Alright', the track that I introduce you today, was made in April 2020 and fully represents the mood of that period. I can't deny that I enjoyed composing it, so much that I ‘tried my hand’ at using my own voice passed through the vocoder ☺️ the idea grew up after playing a simple pad chords sequence, to which I only paired the kick drum pattern at first, almost as to emulate the heartbeat. but soon after I could not resist creating a bass line, which has involuntarily turned the song into something with a wider listening spectrum.
