Government Advances Renewable Energy and Sustainable Practices in Schools

The Government of Saint Lucia is advancing initiatives to increase the use of renewable energy and promote sustainable practices in schools. Solar energy equipment, including panels, batteries and inverters, has been zero-rated for VAT for five years, helping to reduce the cost of adopting solar technology. The government is also promoting rainwater harvesting in schools, with initiatives underway at Bishop Gatchet School and solar power efforts at the Entrepot School.
