Government Strengthens Psychosocial Support in Schools

The Government of Saint Lucia is expanding psychosocial support for students with the addition of eight new counsellors and two social workers during the new school year. The increased staffing is intended to address the growing demand for interventions and provide more comprehensive support to students. Social workers will work directly with families and communities to better understand students’ circumstances, with information shared with counsellors to help determine appropriate support.
