Hello everyone, I'm Pastor Donny Jester, at Grace Redemptions Church. I'm so glad that you could tune in with us today. We have been teaching a series, a little mini series if you please, on the Believer's Authority. We've been using the same text, so if you haven't tuned in with us, take your Bible or your phone and go to Mark's Gospel chapter 13, verse 34.
Again, that's Mark's Gospel chapter 13 verse 34. While you're turning there, if you'd like to become a partner with this ministry, support us with prayer. We certainly could use your prayers. If you'd like to be a partner in financial support, you can see how to text to give.
Just text that number and tell you what to do. And you can become a supporter to this ministry. So let's pick up where we left off last week. Mark chapter 13, verse 34, Jesus said, for the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey who left his house and gave authority to his servants and to every man his work and commanded the porter to watch.
Wow. You know, in one of the footnotes, I wrote down here, he didn't want you to just watch once in a while, but continually be alert. You know, the Bible tells us that we are to be sober living in this world, and I'm not Godless, but living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for the sin to appear in the Lord. But the thing that we need to understand to come out of our shell and to not be intimidated by the powers of darkness and not be dominated by fear, we have to understand that we have delegated authority over the powers of darkness.
I talk to you in this series about the three keys, which we'll talk about the last key in this devotion. We talked about the three keys of authority, redemption, righteousness, and resistance. Say that with me, redemption, righteousness, and resistance. So we covered in this series a little bit that we have about redemption, that we have been made to sit with him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
You see, there's been given a name to Jesus that's far above Prince of Paul and in powers. And God wrote this through Jesus Christ. And the church, you can read it for yourself in Ephesians, that the church has been given delegated authority. And all power, Jesus said, in Matthew chapter 28, verse 18, has been given to him in heaven and in earth.
The devil may be the God of deception or the Lord of flies, the God of this world system, but he still doesn't have the last say. All God is looking for is for us to give him a permit. You see, when you pray and you speak the word of God, you give license to God to move in the rim of this earth, to cause things to be overturned. It's important to know that you are so valuable, especially today, if you are a Christian, how that you can interrupt the powers of darkness every day that you live.
It's like one preacher said, you know, well, I got the devil on a run. Unfortunately, you know, he's running after me, and I'm running from him. No, you've not designed to run from the devil. You're designed to bind prince of powers and powers and loose the power of God into the atmosphere, into this earth.
That's what the Bible said. Jesus said, we talked about last week to Peter. He said, I give you the keys of the kingdom. And whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven.
You can take authority and bind every hindrance spirit that comes in. We can take authority right now over this, this, the airway and we bind every devil. We try to hinder this program in the name of Jesus. And we lose God's deliverance, God's salvation, God's healing power over this camera in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
But I want to talk to you to finish this series today about the last key. We know that we've been made righteous, right? We've been redeemed from the Lord. We've been made righteous on what Jesus did through his shed blood.
But to have the keys of the kingdom and the keys of authority and to be a believer that knows their authority, we've got to understand this last key, resistance. Everybody say that with me, resistance. In James chapter four, verse seven, submit yourself unto God. You can't do it, baby doll, out there on your own, in your own strength, in your own name, in your own ingenuity.
First of all, you've got to have a bored meeting with God. First of all, you've got to get along with God and submit to him. You've got to let God speak to you. When he tells you to go, you do it.
Whatever he tells you to do, you do it. What you see in the word, you act it out. Because that's all God wants us to do. It's act out what the word says.
Act on the word, that's what faith is. It's act, it's acting it out. You need to act like you, somebody come to town. And he said, resist the devil, submit yourself unto God and resist the devil.
And he would flee. Town of the Greek, it means he'll run in terror. You have to understand that the devil has a glass gel. The devil is afraid of you.
He's like a roaring lion, but honey, he's not a roaring lion. Now what I want you to see in this word, the devil is a bully. It reminds me of the story years ago, I've told it bears repeating, about this little boy in the school was running around there. He was a wired little feller.
He just, a little wire, you know, just like a, just, you know, just fasty. That's a good word for a fasty. And there was this bully in the school. And he was beating up on everybody, you know, timidating everybody.
And he had him a legal pad and he was writing down. And the little wire boy said to him, he said, what are you writing? He said, I'm making me a list of everybody I can whip in this year's school. The little boy was real wiring, look on there.
He said, you got my name on this, you can't whip me. You can't whip me. He said, I'll raise your name. So you and I've got to spend time and letting the devil know by the authority we have in Jesus Christ, come on somebody.
If we do that, we can wire the devil's eraser out. He doesn't have authority over you. You have authority over him. And the only reason that he's coming in and hitting you is because you're not being a watchman.
You're not being alert. You've got to spend time in this word. You have to understand that God made you a reckoning force against the powers of darkness. You don't have to back up because the Bible said that Christ is in you, the hope of glory.
He is in you. In 1 John chapter four, verse four, a bear for me or passage of scripture. He said, little children, you know, you have overcome them. What's he talking about?
He was talking about demon powers because in the very first part of 1 John chapter four, verse one, he said, let me try the spirits and see if they be of God, not every spirits of God. See right now what we're dealing with in this world and the church needs to know that, you're dealing with the spirit of antichrist in this world. That's why all the eruption is going on and all the chaos in the country is divided because it's over a prince demon. And we're in this because the spirit of antichrist is here.
The world don't want Jesus Christ. That's what they're willing to get rid of is him. But you have to understand, greater is he said, you have overcome them. The greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
I'm telling you beloved, rise up today. Take your rightful place. You've been made to sit with Jesus and heavenly places. Take your rightful authority and bow up like an old cat and say, devil, you will not take authority over me or my family in the name of Jesus.
I bind you and I cast you out in the name of Jesus. You've got to get violent in the spirit realm with your faith. You've got to let the devil know. That's why the Bible said, since the days of John the Baptist, the Bible said, the church has suffered violence.
Come on somebody. But the violent, take it by force. When James said, you resist. He didn't say, well, I'm hoping praying, God's going to get this devil off on back.
He's saying, you have the authority, you resist the devil. And there is something to resist. So you resist doubt and unbelief, you resist worry and fear, and you place yourself under God's authority and take God's authority over the powers of darkness. Right now you say, Jesus, I make you Lord.
I walk in the rim of understanding your forgiveness and your mercy and I make you Lord of my life today. Come into my heart for giving me. In Jesus Christ, amen. You've been made a new creature.
Tell somebody, let us know. We'll see you next week. God bless you.
