..Con un doppio Lp o doppio Cd di Nina Simone, la Bmg ha inaugurato qualche mese fa la serie The Montreux Years, destinata a valorizzare registrazioni tratte da Montreux Sounds, l'archivio di registrazioni del Montreux Jazz Festival fondato da Claude Nobs, il compianto creatore e direttore del festival svizzero. Nina Simone si esibì a Montreux cinque volte, nel '68, alla seconda edizione del festival, poi nel '76, nell'81, nell'87 e infine nel '90. In uno dei due Cd è riportata integralmente l'esibizione del '68, ed è la prima volta che il concerto completo è pubblicato su Cd; nell'altro Cd è proposta invece una scelta dagli altri quattro concerti, dando spazio soprattutto a quello del '76, una delle prime esibizioni di Nina Simone in Europa da diversi anni, perché Nina Simone si era trasferita a vivere in Africa, in Liberia.
