Gratitude is an action word. Gratitude is a readiness to show appreciation. Gratitude requires aforethought. The act of loving someone other than ourselves, starts our being grateful process. In order to love someone other than ourselves we must first love ourselves. We must love and acknowledge all we have accomplished and surmounted. With this comes the realization of all God has led us through. It is our appreciation of all God has done for us that promotes Gratitude. Our Gratitude not only takes in to consideration all he has given us but also all that he has protected us from. All the diseases we do not suffer from. All the abnormalities we are not afflicted with. All the mountains we have climbed as well as all the pitfalls we have avoided falling into. We serve a magnanimous and unlimited God, A God full of empathy and mercy. A God who is never ever wrong and who in fact is always right. A God worthy of our gratitude and love. Our gratitude sets deep within us, Our gratitude is a spiritual reality, God rewards whom he wants our rewards in recovery are a manifestation of God's will and response to doing that which is right by his laws. There is no recovery without God, Gratitude is our response to the empathy we receive from God. Gratitude is the beginning of giving back. In order for us to keep what we got we must give it away. The gratitude for what we have received makes it possible for us to give it away freely just as we have received it.
