Held Friday through Sunday, July 25-27 at Lake Storey Park, this 25th anniversary event promises a vibrant hot air balloon festival with family fun. Here are the highlights: Family-Friendly Festivities: Starting around 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, enjoy kids’ activities like train rides, bounce houses, “Touch a Truck,” face painting, and live music by Southern Exposure, plus food vendors all weekend. Hot Air Balloons: Expect 25 balloons, including the special “Boo” ghost balloon (85 feet tall, 105,000 cubic feet) with LED lights for the night glow, a crowd favorite at dusk. Event Logistics: Parking is near ball diamonds, with limited spots by the pavilion and handicap access on the field; festivities kick off around 4-5 p.m., weather permitting. Merchandise and Fundraising: T-shirts, cooling towels, and raffle tickets (golf ball drop, family fun pack) support the event, with all proceeds benefiting the race.
