GRIEF: Life After the Life You Planned: an Emergency Hysterectomy, Loss, and Rebuilding from the Rubble with Brandis | S04E31

S04E31 Where do you begin when the life you imagined falls apart? In this raw and deeply personal episode, our guest shares her story of navigating divorce, reconciliation, medical trauma, and unimaginable grief. From discovering a fibroid instead of a long-hoped-for pregnancy to undergoing an emergency hysterectomy, to tragically losing her fiancé—she opens up about the layers of loss and the silent weight of PTSD that followed. She reflects on what it meant to redefine strength, rebuild trust in her marriage, and face the reality of parenting a child that isn’t hers and who represents something she’ll never have. With vulnerability and grace, she walks us through how therapy, community, and time have helped her begin to heal.If you’ve ever grieved the version of life you thought you’d have, this conversation is a reminder: healing isn’t a destination ... it’s a process, and you don’t have to walk it alone.//Show Links// Dirty Laundry WebsiteBrandis's Poetry Book
