We’re joined by Natalie Everard from Equal Potential, an organisation dedicated to supporting young people as they move from education into employment and independent life.In our conversation, we talk about the challenges young people can face during this transition, including accessing work, securing housing, managing finances, and navigating systems that aren’t always designed with them in mind. Natalie shares insight into what meaningful, practical support really looks like at this stage of life, especially for young people who need additional guidance or advocacy.We also explore what being neurodivergent can look like in education, employment and everyday life, and why understanding and flexibility are so important. Natalie explains how young people are supported through mentoring, group sessions, volunteering opportunities and fundraising, helping them build confidence, independence and connection.Alongside this, we discuss the work Equal Potential does with businesses and organisations, supporting them to become more neurodivergent-friendly workplaces, creating environments where young people can truly thrive, not just “fit in”.This episode is a thoughtful look at how the right support, on both sides of the equation, can change outcomes for young people and employers alike.
