GTL - Coaches Corner + Nick Hool, Founder of Hoolest Performance Technologies

from Golf Talk Live · host Ted J. Odorico

Welcome to Golf Talk Live! Tune in LIVE Thursday at 6:00 PM Central Joining me this week on the Coaches Corner Panel: Jon Decker, Peter Egazarian & Alex Fisher. Later I welcome special guest: Nick Hool, Founder of Hoolest Performance Technologies. More on Nick: Nicholas (26) grew up playing competitive golf with dreams of playing on the PGA tour. Like many golfer/athletes, Nick struggled with performance anxiety during high-pressure situations and his scores often reflected it. He tried many methods to treat his performance anxiety. When he was 16 he was even prescribed anxiety medication, but stopped taking it because of negative side effects. Nick’s experience with performance anxiety in golf led him to study the neuroscience of human performance and the anxiety response in athletes at ASU. He completed his bachelors in biomedical engineering in 2016 and recently completed his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at ASU. As part of his research, he developed a device called a non-invasive vagal nerve stimulator, a drug-free technology that reduces performance anxiety in athletes and other individuals who experience moments of high anxiety, including those with clinical conditions like PTSD.
