Guideline on Invoice Requirements for Cross Border Trade Into Switzerland

Presently, legal requirements for invoicing practices in Switzerland can be found scattered throughout the Swiss legal landscape, without a document providing clear guidance on content or components, from a legal and also a practical perspective. In turn this can cause issues when crucial components in invoices aren't present at the border at the time of importation, complicating importation for Swiss business actors. This initiative by the ILE, aims to address these existing administrative challenges caused by this variability and supports compliance with legal standards of customs invoicing for importation into Switzerland. The requirements are based on national law, industry standards and best practices for invoicing of importation into Switzerland.Feel free to reach out in case of questions or comments.Peter Hongler ([email protected])Florian Regli ([email protected])
