22 Aralık 1914 tarihinde başlayan ve 15 Ocak 1915 tarihinde sona eren Sarıkamış Harekatı, Allahuekber ve Soğanlı dağları bölgesinde gerçekleşti. Bu harekat sırasında Mehmetçik, vatanları uğruna dondurucu soğuklarda fedakarca görev yaparak şehadeti göze aldı. Ancak, dondurucu soğuklar ve çatışmalar nedeniyle binlerce asker maalesef şehit düştü. Sarıkamış Harekatı’nın 109’uncu yıldönümü.
