Gurumahan's thirst to experience self and attainment after meeting Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan | குருமகான் தன்னிலை அடைந்த வைராக்கிய அனுபவம்

from Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom · host Santhosam

Gurumahaan'a Brahmacharya vairagya : Whenever I saw any woman, I treated her as if she were my mother. Back then, it was said that gazing at women would stir desires, causing the vairagya needed to reach God to fade away.Gurumatha is my sister’s daughter. From the moment my sister reached puberty until her marriage, I never looked at her due to my Brahmacharya. Even when I had to visit her home, I would inform her home in advance to avoid looking at her, and if she came to our house for three days, I would stay outside out of respect and to maintain my brahmacharya vairagya. Only after she left would I return home.I resolved never to marry in my pursuit of God. When I met Paranjothi Mahaan, I sincerely asked, “Who am I?” I aspired to become God; I had no desire to be a doctor or an engineer. When I gazed at images of Lord Murugan or Lord Ganesha, I wished to embody that divinity. In my devotion to Lord Shiva, I yearned to unite with Shivam. This was not arrogance, but rather an intuitive desire to merge with God. During Vishnu’s suprapadham, it felt as though the song was awakening me. In places where praises of the Lord or Nature were sung, I felt a profound connection, as if I were the Lord and Nature, experiencing oneness with them. Everything resides within us. The absence of duality is the ultimate spiritual truth. If there are two, that is dwaitham, which implies separation. Even at a young age, no one taught me this externally; it was an inner intuition. I would ponder whether it was possible to become God and felt that it certainly was. At that time, the book “I-God (Naan Kadavul)” was published. I was attracting what I sought. At 19, while in college, I learned about Paranjothi Mahaan. However, I was doubtful about his dark attire, as Periyar, an atheist, also wore black attire, and my family would disapprove. Vivekananda stated that only Brahmacharya could lead to self-realization. To elevate the bindu, I consumed a natural seed to shield my body from snake and scorpion bites, allowing me to peacefully engage in Tapas in the forests. As I was turning my body into poison, my friend’s mother saw me consuming it and pleaded me to stop, reminding me that I am my parents’ only son. Even though I assured her that I would not eat it again, I was convinced that my body had already absorbed the poison to safeguard me. I experienced profound vairagya in my pursuit of God. Occasionally, I would leave home and come back after two days. My mother never questioned my actions and had unwavering faith in me and my spiritual journey. She trusted that I would always return and consistently follow the right path.Send us Fan MailLet Wisdom Flourish!Let Peace Prevail! Let us protect Mother earth!Let us protect the Universe!
