The Sabres were able to finish the Boston Bruins in six games, and had the benefit of waiting while Montreal and Tampa Bay went seven games. The Canadiens edged the lightning 2-1 Sunday night, setting up the first meeting between Buffalo and Montreal in the postseason since back in 1998 when the Sabres swept them.
