Happening in 702 Land: Kaza Kamba 2026 – a festival of memory, art and Pan Africanism

Gugs Mhlungu speaks with Faarooq Mangera, creative arts patron and a friend of Kaza Kamba, about the festival’s return to the Market Theatre under the theme Memory Against Forgetting, inspired by Milan Kundera’s words. They discuss the festival’s celebration of theatre, music and film, alongside workshops, a colloquium and a marketplace of local goodies. Also in the discussion, Gugs speaks with Sara Hallatt, director of the META Foundation and the founder of Contra.Joburg about its 5th edition of the two-day cultural experience, featuring live performance, dance, art, architecture, making, music and exhibitions.
