What do you do when you have other people who are saying things that maybe aren't in your best interest, where they're maybe naysaying you, where that you can't do X, Y, and Z? And how do you get over that? Hey guys, if you're like me, you've always had a desire to do more. And deep inside, you've known there's a way and a possibility for you to achieve your dreams, the lifestyle, and achieve the freedom you've always wanted.
Because we have what it takes to get things done and learn from others, and get the mindset to achieve the dreams we've always wanted. Welcome to SB Warriors. Hey, what's up SB Warriors? I'm Paul K here today.
And I'm kind of talking about something that happened to me when dealing with my son. And he comes to us, he's like, hey, you know, well, actually he got trouble. The teacher goes, he didn't have a good day today. And we're like, oh, that's weird because that's normally not our kid.
You know, normally you have good days and he's pretty helpful in the classroom and stuff like that. He even got a word once. So then we hear that he didn't have a good day. We're like, why is that?
What's going on? So I start talking to him, and I'm like, hey, man, like, what happened? And of course he's reluctant to be honest as any kid would be. And I start talking, he's like, hey, somebody was making fun of me.
And so our son had this weird thing where he doesn't want to put chapstick around his lips and it's winter. And so in the middle of winter, you know, especially if you're from a cold environment, you have to like moisturize things or else things start to crack and obviously start getting a little bit of a redness around his mouth. And so I'm sure somebody made fun of him for it. It's like, well, dude, I tell you, you got to take care of that.
And but the thing is I was trying to tell him, like, look, you can't lash out because somebody says something that's maybe not nice. You know, I think some girl is an eeew or a yug or something like that. And so yeah, OK, maybe he's a little gross to us. Yeah, sure, because we're adults, we try not to do those things.
But he's a kid. And so kids say other things because kids say what's on their mind. And I'm like, look, you can't control what other people do. What other people say.
The only thing you can control is yourself. You have to know who you are despite what people around you may say. Now, of course, you should have a really stick appraisal of what's going on in the world. And and someone who's close to you, who is honest with you, can give you feedback.
Yeah, you need that just like what happened to me when someone was giving me a critical constructive criticism. And so yeah, you need that. At the same time, there are people who have their own issues and they're going to put their issues on you not to make you feel bad, but actually to make you to make themselves feel better. That's what they're trying to do.
They're not thinking about you. They're thinking about them. And so it's like when you go into situations, you have to be realistic about what's going on as a whole, but to not to give someone else power over you to change your actions that causes more harm because somebody who's in the place of doubt, negativity, that person doesn't need to be in your sphere of influence. You have to know that person is not looking out for your best interest, does not care about you, doesn't care about your family.
And so I got to tell myself, like, look, you know who you are, you know who you're meant to be. You're a good person. You love people. You're kind.
You're smart. All these things remind yourself, like, what someone says one thing, doesn't matter. You still know who you are always. So I had to tell my son that this morning.
And I was like, you know what? I don't know if anyone else needs to hear that. But a lot of times we forget because we face ourselves so much of what other people think. And I'm a guilty of it too.
When the reality is the core of who you are, you know who you are. You know you. You know you have to help people make a difference. Do good things.
Give results. And sometimes you're not going to be perfect. But I think you're not, you know who you are and you're going to continue to push yourselves to be the best you can be. That's what I believe you are.
That's what I believe you are. That's what I believe you son is. That's what I believe I am. We're imperfect creatures striving for a better, better whatever, better business, better home life, better relationships with our family, our loved ones.
And so don't let people take that away from you. They can only take it away from you if you let them take care of us. You know you're pushing. Have a great day.
