Hausaufgabe 143 (2020-08-16)

Lately there's been no shortage of past genres experiencing a resurgence at some level. Dream house, UK garage.. Even NYC freestyle has been brought back by a new generation. However, the one nearest to my own heart has been the uptick of UK hardcore influenced sounds. Sure, it's probably the 3rd time within a decade by now and not all of it is pure gold, but among the low-effort "rave" pastiches ("rave" is still not a genre btw) there are bangers to be discovered. So I decided to throw together a breakbeat-heavy mix, something I've yet to do in this series. It's not strictly hardcore, as there's also e.g. breaks-leaning electro and what have you. Hopefully it'll come across as consistent enough anyway. This one might also not sport the sharpest mixing I've ever done, but in my defense it was FUCKING HOT in Berlin during the recording.
