Today's reading from Matthew chapter 26 is a tough one. In this section, Jesus makes His final preparations for him to be arrested. He has Passover with his disciples where he establishes the Lord's Supper. He also deals with the reality of what is about to happen to Him. He goes apart and asks his closest friends to watch and pray with Him. They couldn't stay awake though... One of His own, betrays him, He's arrested and ALL of the disciples fled. Peter gets enough courage to follow at a far distance, but when confronted, denies even knowing Jesus, 3 times. When is the last time you've been betrayed or let down by a friend, or someone you love. The reality is that Humans are imperfect and selfish, and make mistakes.
