Hawks officer alleges Mchunu pressured him over Mkwanazi testimony.

from Update@Noon · host SAfm

Lieutenant-Colonel Deenadayalan Govender, attached to the Hawks' Serious Organised Crime Unit and head of the DPCI's KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Tracing Team, says a person claiming to be Minister Senzo Mchunu told him he would be protected. Testifying before the Madlanga Commission Govender says the caller also instructed him to implicate General Mkwanazi for the shootings. Governder told the Commission that he believed he was being pressured to implicate the general in his evidence before the commission. Govender says he refused, arguing that the general had supported his team with resources but had not given him instructions to commit wrongdoing.
