Day 28 of the Omerבְּמִנְחָה אוֹמְרִים תַּחֲנוּן[On the eve of Pesach Sheni,] Tachanun is recited in the Afternoon Service.רַבֵּנוּ הַזָּקֵן — בְּאוֹתָם הַשָּׁנִים שֶׁהָיָה אוֹמֵר מַאֲמָרִים קְצָרִים — אָמַרIn the years during which the Alter Rebbe delivered short maamarim, he once taught:דַּע מַה לְמַעְלָה מִמָּךְ“The phrase, ‘Know what is above you,’דַּע כִּי כָל מַה שֶׁיֵּשׁ לְמַעְלָה בַּפַּרְצוּפִים וּסְפִירוֹת הָעֶלְיוֹנוֹתcan be interpreted as meaning, ‘Know that what is Above, in the sublime partzufim and Sefiros, הַכֹּל הוּא מִמָּךְis from you’ —שֶׁתָּלוּי בַּעֲבוֹדַת הָאָדָםit is dependent upon man’s Divine service.”Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in EnglishFor questions and follow-up: [email protected]
