ממכתב אאמו"רFrom a letter by my father:*… יט כסלו … החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנוThe 19th of Kislev...the festival on which "He redeemed our soul in peace," and our soul's illumination and vitality were given to us, היום הזה הוא ראש השנה לדא"חthis day is Rosh Hashana for Chassidus אשר הנחילנו אבותינו הקדושים זצוקלל"הה נ"ע זי"עbequeathed us by our sacred forebears, והיא היא תורת הבעש"ט ז"לidentical with the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov.זה היום תחלת מעשיך"This day is the beginning of Your works,"שלימות הכוונה האמיתית בבריאת האדם עלי ארץthe fulfillment of the true intention behind the creation of man on earth, להמשיך גילוי אור פנימיות תורתינו הקדושהwhich is to call forth revelation of the light of the inward part of our holy Torah.אשר נמשך ביום הזה בבחי' המשכה כללית על כללות השנהOn this day, that light is called forth, in a general way, for the entire year. ועלינו להעיר לבבנו ביום הזה בבחי' חפץ ורצון פנימי ועצמי באמיתת נקודת לבבנוIt is our duty, on this day, to awaken our hearts with an innermost, elemental desire and will, in the very core of our heart, שיאיר נפשנו באור פנימיות תורתו יתthat G‑d illuminate our souls with the light of His Inner Torah.ממעמקים קראתיך ה"From the depths I called to You, O G‑d," להמשיך בחי' עומק ופנימיות תורת ה' ומצות הto elicit the depth and inwardness of G‑d's Torah and G‑d's mitzvot מבחי' פנימיות ועצמות אוא"ס ב"הfrom the inwardness and essence of the Infinite (May He be blessed), שיאיר בפנימיות נפשנוto illuminate the inwardness of our souls. אשר כל עצמותינו (ר"ל כל מציאותינו, העצם וההתפשטות כו') יהיו אליו ית' לבדThat all our being (meaning our total existence, the essence and the extensions) be devoted to Him alone, לגרש מאתנו כל מדת רעה ומגונה מהמדות הטבעיותto banish from within us any of the natural traits that are evil and unworthy. כ"א כל עשיותינו וענינינו (הן בעבודה היינו תפלה ותומ"צ [ותורה ומצות]Instead, all our works and affairs (our Avoda, meaning - davening and Torah and mitzvot, (והן בעניני עולם המוכרחים לקיום הגוףand our worldly undertakings necessary for the maintenance of the body), יהיו בכוונה אמיתית לשם שמים אשר חפץ ה' כוbe with sincere intention for the sake of Heaven, as G‑d wishes.והי"ת אב הרחמים ירחם עלינו וינחנו בדרך הטובה והישרה ישר יחזו פנימוMay G‑d the Merciful Father have compassion upon us and lead us along the good and righteous path and may we "see His face in uprightness.
