אַאַמוּ"ר סִפֵּרMy revered father, the Rebbe [Rashab], once related:הַדְּרוּשׁ וָאֵרָא גו' וּשְׁמִי ד' גו', הַמְדַבֵּר בְּעִנְיַן כִּי לֹא יִדַּח מִמֶּנּוּ נִדָּח “The maamar beginning Vaeira… U’Shmi A-donai ,which explains that no [Jew] ultimately will remain estranged from G‑d,(אֵינוֹ הַנִּדְפָּס בְּתּוֹרָה אוֹר)(not the one that appears in Torah Or)"קָנָה לוֹ שֵׁם "דעֶר פרוּמעֶר וָאֵרָאcame to be known as der frumer Vaeira.וְהָיָה רָגִיל רַבֵּנוּ הַזָּקֵן לַחֲזוֹר אוֹתוֹ אַחַת לְשָׁלֹשׁ שָׁנִיםThe Alter Rebbe would deliver it publicly every three years,וּבְכָל פַּעַם וּפַעַם כִּמְעַט שֶׁהָיָה אוֹמֵר אוֹתוֹ כִּלְשׁוֹנוֹrepeating it each time almost verbatim.וְאָמַר הַצֶּמַח צֶדֶק[Nevertheless,] the Tzemach Tzedek said:יעֶדעֶר מאָל אִיז געֶוועֶן אַ אוֹר חָדָשׁ‘Every time, there was a new light.’”האָט דעֶר טאַטעֶ געֶזאָגטOn this my father [The Rebbe Maharash] commented:אַ אוֹר אִיז אַלעֶ מאָל גלַייך, אָבּעֶר מָאוֹר אִיז אַלעֶמאָל וִוי אַ דָבָר חָדָשׁ“Light (or) is always the same; a luminary (maor) is always like something new.”Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in English
