Hayom Yom 27 Teves - Jewish materiality, is spirituality

רַבֵּנוּ הַזָּקֵן אָמַרThe Alter Rebbe declared:אִידִישׁעֶ גַּשְׁמִיּוּת אִיז רוּחָנִיוּתThe material [concerns] of a Jew are [in truth] spiritual.דעֶר אוֹיבּעֶרשׁטעֶר גִיט אוּנז גַּשְׁמִיּוּת, מִיר זאָלן דעֶרפוּן מאַכעֶן רוּחָנִיּוּתG‑d gives us material things in order that we transform them into spirituality.אַמאָל אַז עֶס אִיז לְרֶגַע נִיט אַזוֹיAs for those times when this is briefly not the case [i.e., when G-d does not bestow bountiful material blessings],דאַרפעֶן געֶבּעֶן דעֶם אוֹיבּעֶרשׁטעֶן אֲפִילוּ מִנְחַת עָנִי גִיט עֶר אַ פוּלעֶwe must give Him even a poor man’s offering.
