Hayom Yom 28 Cheshvan - Every movement of all created beings is controlled by Divine Providence

עִנְיַן הַהַשְׁגָּחָה פְּרָטִית הוּאThe concept of hashgachah peratis means דְּלֹא זוּ בִּלְבַד דְּכָל פְּרָטֵי תְּנוּעוֹת הַנִּבְרָאִים לְמִינֵיהֶםnot only that every particular movement of the various created beings הֵם בְּהַשְׁגָּחָה פְּרָטִיתis controlled by Divine Providence, וְהִיא הִיא חַיּוּת הַנִּבְרָא וְקִיּוּמוֹwhich also determines the vitality and ongoing existence of that created being; אֶלָּא עוֹד זֹאתit also means דִּתְנוּעָה פְּרָטִית שֶׁל נִבְרָאthat each particular movement of every being יֵשׁ לָהּ יַחַס כְּלָלִי לִכְלָלוּת כַּוָּנַת הַבְּרִיאָהis directly related to the overall intent underlying the creation…. דִּבְצֵרוּף וְאִחוּד כָּל הַפְּעוּלוֹת הַפְּרָטִיוֹתFor through the combination and synthesis of all the particular activities…, נִשְׁלְמָה כַּוָּנָה הָעֶלְיוֹנָה בְּסוֹד הַבְּרִיאָה כּוּלָהּthe sublime mystical intent underlying all of creation is consummated.וְיִתְבּוֹנֵן הָאָדָםA person should consider: וּמַה אִם תְּנוּעַת עֵשֶׂב בָּאָה בְּהַשְׁגָּחָה פְּרָטִיתIf the movement of a blade of grass is prompted by Divine Providence וְנוֹגַעַת לְהַשְׁלָמַת כַּוָּנַת הַבְּרִיאָהand has a role to play in fulfilling the intent of creation, מִין הַמְּדַבֵּר בִּכְלָלwith regard to the human species in general, וְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַם קְרוֹבוֹ בִּפְרָטand to the Jewish people, the nation close to Him, in particular,עַל אַחַת כַּמָּה וְכַמָּהhow much more so.Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in EnglishFor questions and follow-up: [email protected]
