Hayom Yom 29 Cheshvan - The great merit of saying Tehilim

מְבָרְכִים רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ כִּסְלֵוWe bless the month of Kislev.אֲמִירַת כָּל הַתְּהִלִּים בְּהַשְׁכָּמָה[On Shabbos Mevarchim, it is our custom] to recite the entire Book of Tehillim early in the morning יוֹם הִתְוַעֲדוּתand to hold a farbrengen on that day.עֲבוֹדָה הַקְּדוֹשָׁה בַּאֲמִירַת תְּהִלִּים בְּצִבּוּר, אֵין דֵּי בַּאֵר גּוֹדֶל הַזְּכוּת שֶׁל הַמִּשְׁתַּתְּפִים בָּזֶהNo words can describe the great merit accruing to those who participate in the holy task of reciting Tehillim as part of a congregation, וְגוֹדֶל הַנַּחַת רוּחַ שֶׁל מַעְלָה כִּמְבוֹאָר בְּסִפְרֵי קוֹדֶשׁnor the great pleasure this arouses Above, as is spoken of in the sacred literature. וְאֶפֶס קָצֵהוּ בְּקוּנְטְרֵס תַּקָּנַת אֲמִירַת תְּהִלִּים בָּרַבִּים (קוֹבֶץ מִכְתָּבִים, א)A mere sliver of this is recorded in [the booklet entitled] Kuntreis Takkanas Amiras Tehillim BeRabbim (Kovetz Michtavim).וְאַשְׁרֵיכֶם יִשְׂרָאֵלFortunate are you, O Israel. וּבִגְלַל זֹאת תִּתְבָּרְכוּ אַתֶּם נְשֵׁיכֶם בְּנֵיכֶם וּבְנוֹתֵיכֶם, ה' עֲלֵיהֶם יִחְיוּBy virtue of these endeavors, may you, your wives, sons, and daughters, be blessed בִּבְרִיאוּת נְכוֹנָה וּבְפַרְנָסָה בְּהָרְחָבָה גְדוֹלָהwith good health and abundant prosperity. וּלְרַגְלֵיכֶם יִוָּשְׁעוּ כָּל עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל שֶׁיִחְיוּ בְּמַחְנְכֶם הַטָּהוֹרAnd in your merit, may salvation be granted to the entire congregation of Israel in your fine community, בְּתוֹךְ כְּלַל אֲחֵינוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל together with the entire Jewish people, בְּהַדָּרוּשׁ לָהֶם בְּגֶשֶׁם וּבְרוּחַin all their material and spiritual needs.Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in English
