נְשִׂיאֵי חַבַּ"ד פְלעֶגְן מַעֲבִיר זיַיןThe Rebbeim of Chabad [would fulfill the obligation to review the weekly Torah portion twice in the original and once in the Aramaic translation in the following manner. אֵיין פַּרְשָׁה אָדעֶר צְוֵויי דאָנעֶרְשׁטאָג בַּיינאַכט אוֹר לְיוֹם שִׁשִּׁיThey] would review one or two aliyos on Thursday night. פְרַייטאָג אַחַר חֲצוֹת פְלעֶגְט מעֶן אָנְהוֹיבְּן נאָכְאַמאָל פוּן אָנהוֹיבּOn Friday afternoon they would begin reviewing the weekly portion again from the beginning, אוּן מַעֲבִיר זַיין דִי גאַנצֶע סִדְרָה מִיט דעֶר הַפְטוֹרָהreading the entire sidrah and the haftarah. שַׁבָּת אִינדעֶרפרִיה פאַר'ן דאַוונעֶן פלעֶגט מעֶן מַעֲבִיר זַיין נאָכאַמאָל פוּן שְׁבִיעִיOn Shabbos morning, before praying, they would review the reading from the seventh aliyah onward again. וועֶן עֶס אִיז אוֹיסְגעֶקוּמעֶן צְווֵיי הַפְטוֹרוֹתWhen there were two haftaros, האָט מעֶן געֶזאָגְט הַפְטוֹרַת הַסִּדְרָה בְּיוֹם שִׁשִּׁיthey would recite the haftarah linked to the weekly Torah reading on Friday, אוּן דִי אַנְדעֶרעֶ הַפְטוֹרָה (פוּן שַׁבָּת רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ, מָחָר חֹדֶשׁ וכו') שַׁבָּתand the other haftarah (e.g., the one linked to Shabbos Rosh Chodesh or to the day preceding Rosh Chodesh) on Shabbos.*הַחֲלוֹמוֹת הַטּוֹבִים בְּעִנְיָנֵי תּוֹרָה שֶׁמוֹדִיעִים בַּחֲלוֹםGood dreams that communicate Torah concepts בָּא עַל פִּי הָרוֹב עַל יְדֵי שְׁקִידָה גְּדוֹלָה בַּתּוֹרָה בַּיוֹםresult, by and large, from diligence in one’s Torah study during the day. דְּכַאֲשֶׁר עוֹסֵק בַּתּוֹרָה בִּשְׁקִידָה גְּדוֹלָהWhen a person studies Torah with great diligence אוֹ עוֹסֵק בַּעֲבוֹדָה שֶׁבְּלֵב בִּיגִיעָה עֲצוּמָהor exerts himself intensely in the service of the heart, הִנֵּה כַּאֲשֶׁר בַּלַּיְלָה נִשְׁמָתוֹ עוֹלָה לְמַעְלָה his soul ascends at night to the spiritual realms וְשׁוֹאֶבֶת לָהּ חַיִּים מֵחַיֵּי דִלְעֵילָּא כִּמְבוֹאָר בְּזֹהַרand draws life from the Sublime life-force, as explained in the zohar הִנֵּה אָז מוֹדִיעִים לוֹ חִדּוּשֵׁי תּוֹרָה בְּגַלְיָא שֶׁבַּתּוֹרָה אוֹ בִּפְנִימִיּוּת הַתּוֹרָהHe is then informed of new insights in nigleh, the revealed dimensions of Torah, or in pnimiyus haTorah, the Torah’s mystical secrets — .אִישׁ אִישׁ כְּפִי שְׁקִידַת עֲבוֹדָתוֹ בַּעֲבוֹדַת הַיּוֹםevery individual according to the diligence of his efforts in the course of that day.Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in English
