Hayom Yom 9 Adar 1 - Be equipped with Torah to walk the streetאַז מעֶן געֶהט אִין גאַס אוּן מעֶן טְראַכְט מִשְׁנָיוֹת תַּנְיָאWhen a person walks down the street and mentally reviews passages from Mishnayos or Tanya,אוּן מְ'זִיצְט אִין קְראָם (סְטאָר) מִיט אַ חוּמָשׁ, אַ תְּהִלִּיםor sits in his store with a Chumash or a Tehillim,אִיז אִיצְט אִיז דאָס טַייעֶרעֶרthis is more cherished [Above] than [in previous ages],וִוי אִין דעֶר צַייט, וועֶן אִין גאַס (סְטרִיט) אִיז געֶוועֶן לִיכְטִיג בְּאוֹר תּוֹרָהwhen the street shone with the light of Torah.מְ'טאָר נִיט געֶהן אִין גאַס אַלִבָּא רֵקָנְיָאOne must not go out in the street emptyhanded.מעֶן דאַרף האָבּעֶן תּוֹרָה, מִיט וואָס צוּ געֶהן אִין גאַסOne must be equipped with words of Torah with which one can walk in the street.Hayom Yom 9 Adar 2 - A Chassid’s thirst to bind with his Rebbeבְּבִרְכַּת בּוֹרֵא נְפָשׁוֹתIn the blessing borei nefashos,אוֹמְרִים עַל כֹּל מַה שֶׁבָּרָאתָin the phrase al kol mah shebarasa,הַכָּ"ף בְּחוֹלָם וְלֹא בְקָמַץthe letter kaf should be vocalized with a cholam, not a kamatz.גּוֹדֶל הַתְּשׁוּקָה לְהִתְקַשְׁרוּת[A chassid’s] great thirst to be bound with his Rebbeיָכוֹל לְהַשְׂבִּיעַ רַק כַּאֲשֶׁר יִלְמוֹד מַאֲמָרֵי הַחֲסִידוּת שֶׁאוֹמֵר הָרַב וְכוֹתֵבcan be satisfied only by studying the maamarim that the Rebbe delivers and writes,כִּי בִּרְאִיַּת פָּנִים בִּלְבָד לָא סָגֵיfor merely seeing his face is not enough.Text and Translation courtesy of Sichos in EnglishFor information and support write [email protected]
