Ryan was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that slowly breaks down all the organs and muscles in your body, at a very young age. He has required the use of a wheelchair for about the last 30 years. Though he has beaten the odds for his life expectancy, his disease continues to progress, and with that, so do his needs.
