这是一首短小的宫怨诗。宫女离家遥远，入宫多年，悲愤到极点，在唐武宗面前落泪以示抗议。一般的宫怨诗多是写不受宠的宫女，但这首不是，写的是在皇帝面前哭诉，被夺去幸福和自由的宫女。短短二十字，写宫女的悲苦，让人一唱三叹。
