Head of Garden Route Disaster Management, Gerhard Otto, warns residents against unsafe flooded crossings.

One person has lost his life in the Garden Route storms that swept the district over the last two days. Police have confirmed that they've found the body of a 40-year-old male, who was swept away in floodwaters on Wednesday night in Waboomskraal, outside George in the Western Cape. The body was recovered this morning after the victim was swept into the swollen Kliprivier.
