Healing, Self Care, and the power of the Plants - Maribeth Helen Keane - Episode 65

from weMove Podcast · host weMove

Welcome to this week's we move podcast. Today's conversation marks a gentle beginning to a Discovery in our own lives that has become really important to us in an our journey to making sense of the world of physical culture and the contemporary drive for success which emphasises the importance of intensity. And increasingly we experience the opposite when spending time with those people that we respect and admire for what they have done or are doing. They are living with intention as opposed to living intensely and are applying a generous dose of self-care in order to nourish their physical and mental states. And this-results, in an ability to listen and feel the innate wisdom that we have within our bodies to guide us in how we live, train, move, work and be in relationship with one another. And this conversation has come about through a chance purchase by Chris of a very simple unassuming ‘zine found in a store 12 months prior and it made a very real impact on him, so much so that he reached out to the author who is based in LA and around when we were visiting on our trip. Maribeth Helen writes and creates tools for reconnecting with the intuitive centers that help to guide us, that help to shine a bit of light as we traverse our path through this world and find the courage to explore what is self-supporting for each of us. These discoveries came through her own learning that we need a true support network to heal and develop our Selves and that we can't do it alone as Maribeth says we don’t need to. Having spent nearly a decade learning from the wisdom of the plants which have become the foundation of her work in guiding our Selves back to the wisdom of our own body and intuition. Through a platform of ‘zines, workshops, weekly newsletters Maribeth offers an invitation to come into deeper self-awareness as a path towards aligned self-healing by reconnecting with our own individual truth and how this truth is an essential thread in the collective web of healing we are weaving, together. The conversation touches many subjects from the power of plants, the respect they are due and the respect we must have for our own Selves to allow healing and growth to flourish. So this might bring up some ideas about the tea you drink about how you look at plants and the connection we have with the natural world while the episode connects dots from previous the previous podcasts encouraging a gentler more connected approach to developing our physical, mental and connected self and move towards a world where we live with intention rather than living in tension with ourselves and others. Enjoy the episode, we will share links to Maribeth’s ‘zines and website and as always share the episode with those you feel it might resonate with. Peace.
