Hearing God Correctly

Your calling unfolds through many decisions, both small and large, making it essential to clearly hear and correctly interpret the voice of God. While God may initiate extraordinary forms of communication through audible voices, visions, dreams, angels, or other people, believers can consistently recognize His direction through their born-again spirit as their minds are renewed by His Word. Learning to hear God requires distinguishing His simple, God-honoring voice from our own complex, self-focused thoughts, trusting His provision rather than interpreting His direction through scarcity, and patiently allowing Him to confirm what He is saying. It also requires proper theology and a biblical worldview, because wrong beliefs and worldly thinking can cause us to misinterpret even what we have clearly heard.
