Heartbeat, Episode 104, Everyone's Grief is Unique
from The Heart of Hospice Podcast · host Helen Bauer & Jerry Fenter
Everyone's grief is as unique and individual as our fingerprints. In this episode the discussion centers around the need for us to accept the way others grieve, even though it may be very different from our own. Grief responses are often determined by the person's role in the family: spouse, child, sibling, parent, etc. It can also be affected by the type of relationship (close, estranged, distant, etc.) between the person who died and the person who's grieving. There are many other factors that can influence the way a person grieves, including personality types birth order caregiving roles coping skills lifestyle choices expectations previous grief experiences Here are links to resources mentioned in this episode: www.dailycaring.com www.aftertalk.com www.centerforloss.com To learn more, please visit our website at www.theheartofhospice.com for more resources about hospice, caregiving, self care, and advance care planning.
