Hegseth Lied. American Troops Died. Where’s the Republican Outrage Machine Now?

Survivors of the deadliest Iranian attack on US forces are telling CBS News that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth lied about how their friends were killed. Hegseth claimed the missile that hit them was a “squirter” - military jargon for a freak hit that gets through despite functioning air defenses. Survivors say there were no defenses. They were left unprotected. Sitting ducks. Four Americans died in Benghazi and the Republican Party launched eight investigations, two select committees, thirty-three hearings, and turned it into a years-long political crusade. Now actual American service members are dead, the Defense Secretary is on tape lying about how it happened, and the entire GOP outrage machine has gone silent. Because the lie is theirs this time.
