Helicopter Captures Wildfire Raging Near Spanish Town And Castle

from NTA Video Stories

Íscar, Spain – A wildfire started at 4:30 p.m. on July 14, 2026, between the town and the hillside of the castle in Íscar, Valladolid province, close to nearby homes. Aerial footage from a helicopter showed flames burning along the fire perimeter as thick gray and brown smoke rose over dry fields, scattered trees, and nearby buildings. The fire advanced at a speed of 33 meters per minute during its first hour, leading to the deployment of extensive firefighting resources from the beginning of the incident. The wind initially pushed the flames away from the town as crews worked to contain the blaze. The fire affected part of the historic castle area, with aircraft carrying out water or retardant drops over the burning vegetation. The wildfire burned through pine forest, fields, and vegetation near Íscar. Favorable progress was reported by evening, although low nighttime humidity increased the risk of the fire restarting in dry grass.
