from Emotional Shtuff Podcast · host Dr. Marcus Mottley

Dr. Mottley highlights the fact that millions of people around the world are not getting the help they need for depression and other mood disorders. This is particularly true in developing countries and even people in under-served communities in 'so-called' developed countries. Dr. Mottley also highlights tha fact that people with these and other emotional and mental health disorders face high levels of stigma, discrimination, neglect and even criminal abuse at the hands of perpetrated on them by whole communities. He shares a brief 'non-diagnostic' questionnaire so that listeners can begin to make decisions on when to seek help. He also distinguishes the different roles of psychiatrists and clinical psychologists and briefly details their areas of specialty. He implores listeners to get help for others or seek help for themselves.
