Annemieke Bosman praat met schrijver, muzikant en journalist Aakfe Romeijn. Zij stelde de bundel Eet meer mensenvlees samen waarvoor ze haar favoriete verhalen van schrijver F. Bordewijk uitkoos en van een inleiding voorzag. Grondwerker-goulash, Sovjetworst, Ambassadeurskop: de kannibalistische gerechten die Bordewijk de lezer voorschotelt in zijn verhaal Eet meer mensenvlees zijn al even hilarisch als verontrustend, en laten precies zien wat Bordewijks verhalen zo sterk maakt: de hoekige stijl, rijke fantasie, duistere humor en onversneden maatschappijkritiek. Bordewijk werd bekend met zijn romans, maar zijn oeuvre omvat eveneens tientallen kortverhalen, die uitwaaieren van magisch realisme tot vlijmscherpe klucht. Van gebouwen die tot leven komen en de hoofdrol overnemen tot tragikomische kijkjes achter de schermen van de vooroorlogse advocatenpraktijk – om steeds maar weer terug te komen bij Bordewijks grootste fascinatie: de diepzwarte randjes van de menselijke geest.
