Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met Arthur Japin. Donderdag gaat de film 'Tchaikovsky's Wife' in premiere en gaat over Antonina Miliukova, een mooie en intelligente negentiende eeuwse Russische aristocrate. Ze kan alles krijgen wat ze begeert, maar wil alleen maar trouwen met Pjotr Tsjaikovski op wie ze heimelijk verliefd wordt als ze voor het eerst zijn muziek hoort. Hij stemt in met een huwelijk om een einde te maken aan de geruchten die over hem de ronde doen en die zijn reputatie bedreigen. Hij voelt echter niets voor Antonina en geeft haar al snel de schuld van zijn tegenslagen en inzinkingen. Verteerd door haar gevoelens voor hem en door zijn vernederingen, wordt ze langzaam tot waanzin gedreven. Arthur Japin zag voor Opium 'Tchaikovsky's Wife' en komt hierover praten in Opium. Arthur Japin schreef eerder over Tsjaikovski in zijn roman 'Kolja'.
