Annemieke Bosman praat met tekenaar Barbara Stok over haar nieuwe beeldroman Wat is goed leven? Het orakel heeft gezegd dat Socrates de wijste mens van alle mensen is. Socrates is verbaasd en besluit samen met zijn vriend Chairefon op onderzoek uit te gaan. Hij voert gesprekken met allerlei mensen die bekendstaan om hun wijsheid. Wat denken zij dat goed leven is? Is dat zoveel mogelijk genieten? Zijn de beste mensen de sterkste mensen? En wat is dat precies, sterk? In elk gesprek ontdekt Socrates dat zijn gesprekspartners toch veel minder weten dan ze zelf denken. Barbara Stok voert de lezer op toegankelijke wijze mee in de wereld van Socrates. Hij spoort aan om vastgeroeste denkbeelden los te schudden. Zijn filosofie is juist ook in deze tijd essentieel.
