Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met Beri Shalmashi, scenarioschrijver van de Telefilm CastingCall. CastingCall is een drama van Sharif Abdel Mawla over een jonge, ambitieuze acteur, genaamd Amir. Amir koestert een ambitieuze droom: hij wil succesvol acteur worden. Ondanks zijn talent blijft hij onopgemerkt, vooral omdat zijn gezicht consequent wordt geblurd bij de enige rollen die hij krijgt in de tv-show 'Meld Misdaad'. Gefrustreerd neemt hij ontslag en meldt zich bij een grote, internationale auditie in Brussel. Daar, in zijn zoektocht naar erkenning, wordt Amir doorzijn ongeduld echter geconfronteerd met de onderwereld. Een wereld die hij tot dan toe alleen kende uit de stereotiepe rollen die hij eerder vertolkte. Dit staat zijn pad naar roem en succes duidelijk in de weg. Ahmed Bouyaghroumni speelt de rol van Amir in CastingCall.
