Annemieke Bosman praat met regisseur Carmen Lamptey over haar jeugdvoorstelling "Kirikou, Karaba en de Toverheks" die zij maakt voor De Toneelmakerij. Ergens in een dorpje in de jungle, ver weg van hier, woont een piepklein jongetje genaamd Kirikou. De mensen uit Kirikou’s dorp leven al jaren onder de vloek van heks Karaba. Ze toverde alle mannen om in kleine robots, legde de waterbron droog en is duidelijk nog niet klaar met haar toverstreken. Niet zo gek dat de dorpelingen bang zijn voor Karaba. Kirikou is niet alleen de kleinste, hij is ook de dapperste van allemaal. Hij trekt ten strijde om het dorp te redden. Waarom is Karaba zo kwaad en vol wraak? Waarom zo boosaardig en slecht? Kirikou weet zéker dat het antwoord op die vraag hem helpt om een einde te maken aan de ellende in het dorp.
