Dik van der Meulen schreef het Buurtbos. Het boek gaat over alles wat je in de natuur kunt tegenkomen: van edelherten, dassen, vogels en vlinders tot teken en horzels. Je leest over wat je uit het bos wel en toch maar beter niet kunt eten, maar ook over ontmoetingen met wandelaars, boswachters, jagers en boeren. Sinds een kleine twintig jaar bezit Dik van der Meulen een huisje aan de rand van het bos. Omdat de natuur altijd in beweging is, besloot hij zijn waarnemingen bij te houden in een natuurdagboek. Daarbij maakte hij – soms haastig, vaak zeer aandachtig – tekeningen van wat hij zag. Annemieke Bosman gaat met Dik in gesprek.
