Annemieke Bosman praat met Hans Heijnen over zijn documentaire "Het Kruis van Tegelen". De vijfjaarlijks opgevoerde Passiespelen in het Limburgse dorp Tegelen gaan over de laatste lijdensdagen van Jezus Christus. Die traditie, waar bijna heel het Limburgse dorp aan meedoet, gaat al terug tot 1931. Het is ook een traditie die vaak gepaard gaat met conflicten over teksten, vernieuwing en de opzet van het spel. Want de bijbel blijft een serieuze zaak. In de schaduw van de laatste Passiespelen ontvouwen zich de lijdensverhalen van een paar passiespelers die met eigentijdse dilemma’s worstelen zoals machtsmisbruik, huiselijk geweld, homoseksualiteit, migranten, gelijkwaardigheid, maar ook het lijden onder Bijbelse thema’s zoals verraad, uitstoting en misplaatste trots. De voice-over is van de in Tegelen geboren acteur Huub Stapel. Het Kruis van Tegelen was Eerste Paasdag 17 april om 20:20 uur te zien op NPO 2.
