Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met filmregisseur Jelle de Jonge. Vanaf donderdag is de film De Terugreis te zien in de bioscoop. Martin van Waardenberg en Leny Breederveld spelen de hoofdrollen in deze melancholische, maar ook humoristische roadmovie waarin herinneringen, jarenlange liefde en acceptatie van veranderingen centraal staan. De regie is in handen van Jelle de Jonge. Jaap is al bijna 50 jaar samen met Maartje. Waar de nukkige Jaap niet veel zin meer heeft om dingen te ondernemen, zit de soms wat verwarde Maartje nog vol levenslust. Als het echtpaar een brief ontvangt van een oude vakantievriend, laat Jaap zich met gepaste tegenzin overhalen om hem op te zoeken in Zuid-Europa. Naast zijn succesvolle debuutfilm Bon Bini Holland en het lovend ontvangen Weg van Jou (2017) werkte Jelle de Jonge ook mee aan seizoenen van De Luizenmoeder en Nieuwe Buren en zette hij nieuwe series op als Harkum, Kerst met de Kuijpers en de thriller Lieve Mama. Ook regisseert De Jonge sketch-programma’s als Toren C en Sluipschutters. Daarnaast is hij als regisseur betrokken bij diverse tv-commercials.
