Annemieke Bosman praat met regisseur Jetske Mijnssen over haar regie van Gaetano Donizetti's opera "Anne Bolena" voor de Nationale Opera. Jetske Mijnssen is een van Nederlands toptalenten in de internationale operaregie en winnaar van de ‘Grand Prix de la Critique’ in 2016, ze debuteert bij De Nationale Opera. De muzikale leiding is in handen van de Italiaanse dirigent Enrique Mazzola, de nieuwe chef-dirigent van de Chicago Lyric Opera. Hij wordt wereldwijd erkend als de belcantospecialist bij uitstek en leidt in Amsterdam het Nederlands Kamerorkest. Anna Bolena heeft het leven van Anna Boleyn, de moeder van koningin Elizabeth I, tot onderwerp. Zij is de tweede vrouw van Hendrik VIII en wordt door hem aan de kant geschoven voor zijn nieuwe minnares Jane Seymour. Het is een opera over macht, passie, eer en kwetsbaarheid met dodelijke gevolgen en dat alles in een woelig tijdperk.
