Op de werkvloer speelt zich alles af wat het leven te bieden heeft: rivaliteit, bedrog, liefde, gênante situaties en vriendschappen voor het leven. Daarom vond Johan het hoog tijd om zijn veelzijdige verleden van banen, baantjes en ronduit mislukte projecten eens uit te diepen.Zo mocht hij als jonkheer in het Land van Ooit een zomer lang poffertjes ontdooien, gaf hij in een dorpje in Ghana rekenles aan kinderen die vooral honger hadden, en werd hij bij een reorganisatie op zijn mbo tussen neus en lippen door ontslagen tijdens een teamvergadering.Met een scherp oog voor de humor en de dynamiek tussen mensen schetst hij een kleurrijk beeld van zijn loopbaan en het menselijk tekort.
