Annemieke Bosman in gesprek met fotograaf Koen Hauser. Hauser, nog niet zo lang geleden Fotograaf des Vaderlands, doet mee aan BredaPhoto Festival. Het tiende BredaPhoto Festival dat tot en met 23 oktober loopt is de grootste fototentoonstelling in de Benelux. Thema is 'Theatre of Dreams' en gaat over hoop en verandering en presenteert voorstellen voor een nieuwe kijk op de wereld. Koen Hauser presenteert op dit fotofestival zijn nieuwe installatie 'In Paradisum'. Koen Hauser is, naast fotograaf, een enthousiaste tuinder. Het buitenleven is voor hem een toevluchtsoord, weg van de complexiteit van de wereld en de manier waarop we erin navigeren. Met 'In Paradisum' onderzoekt Hauser de mogelijkheden om een puur en directer contact met de wereld te herstellen. In dit werk gebruikt hij fotografische beelden als verf op een manier die lijkt op de oude Japanse marmerkunst, Suminagashi. Koen Hauser (1972, Nederland) rondde zijn master in de sociale psychologie af voordat hij in 2002 afstudeerde aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Zowel in opdracht als in zijn autonome projecten verwijst hij naar beelden uit culturele instellingen, musea, archieven en het publieke domein. Zijn werk wordt tentoongesteld in heel Europa, de Verenigde Staten en China en is vertegenwoordigd in zowel nationale als internationale collecties.
