Annemieke Bosman praat met regisseur Max Ploeg over zijn documentaire Pretpark Hennie. De excentrieke ondernemer Hennie van der Most bouwt al tien jaar aan een pretpark in hartje Rotterdam. Op de resten van een oude afvalverbrandingscentrale probeert Hennie met behulp van tweedehands materialen zijn dromen waar te maken. Maar tussen droom en werkelijkheid ligt tot op de dag van vandaag een braakliggend terrein. NPO Doc: Pretpark Hennie is woensdag 13 mei om 20.30 uur te zien bij BNNVARA op NPO 2 en te streamen op NPO Start. Van der Most (1950) bouwde zijn naam op als selfmade ondernemer. De oud-ijzerhandelaar uit Schuinesloot groeide uit tot multimiljonair met het herbestemmen van leegstaande gebouwen. Een oude fabriek werd een zwemparadijs, een nooit gebruikte kerncentrale een pretpark. Op het hoogtepunt bestond zijn imperium uit vijftien bedrijven en werd zijn vermogen geschat op tientallen miljoenen. Zonder diploma’s, maar met fantasie en doorzettingsvermogen, werkte Van der Most de afgelopen jaren in Rotterdam aan zijn nieuwste levenswerk: een pretpark waar buitenbeentjes mogen meedoen. Zelfs wanneer het geld opraakt, de erfpacht afloopt en het park nog lang niet af is, houdt Hennie hoop dat zijn pretpark afkomt. Waar de rest van de wereld vooral problemen ziet, ziet Hennie kansen. Pretpark Hennie beleefde in januari zijn wereldpremière op het International Film Festival Rotterdam. Regisseur Max Ploeg maakte eerder voor BNNVARA onder meer Leve de vrouw van de SRV en Held op papier.
