Daar is sinds vorige week de tentoonstelling Beyond the Manosphere — Masculinities Today te zien. Wat betekent het vandaag de dag om man te zijn? Deze vraag is urgent geworden met de opkomst van de ‘manosphere’, een los online netwerk waarin een stoere, misogyne vorm van mannelijkheid heerst. Deze voelt voor velen bedreigend aan en is met het Trumpisme steeds meer mainstream geworden. In de tentoonstelling Beyond the Manosphere – Masculinities Today laten hedendaagse kunstenaars mannelijkheid zien als een uiting van macht – maar ook als een geleefde werkelijkheid die alledaags, wankel en teder kan zijn. Zij benaderen mannelijkheid als een breed en gelaagd fenomeen, voorbij de dominante clichés. Werk is er te zien van Eduardo Paolozzi, Tetsumi Kudo en Sophie Calle.
