Annemieke Bosman praat met Niek Barendsen. Hij is, samen met Ilse Warringa, schrijver en regisseur van de tv comedy CAST van de NTR. De beroemde casting director Louis van Leeuwen (Gijs Scholten van Aschat) wist altijd de spannendste klussen binnen te halen. Maar nu hij is beschuldigd van grensoverschrijdend gedrag dreigt het bedrijf ten onder te gaan. Terwijl Louis met de noorderzon lijkt te zijn vertrokken en de acteurs en opdrachtgevers weglopen, proberen oudgedienden Helen (Jacqueline Blom) en Mike (Michiel Nooter) uit alle macht het bedrijf overeind te houden. Maar de kersverse manager Tom (Lykele Muus) en de jonge correcte intimiteitscoördinator Kiki (Claire Bender) hebben een heel andere koers voor ogen met het castingbureau dan waar de oude garde aan gewend was. Lijnrecht tegenover elkaar Als social media-expert Naomi (Quiah Shilue) en ICT’er Mehrdad (Saman Amini) het nieuwe bureau compleet maken, staan de oudere en jongere generatie lijnrecht tegenover elkaar wat betreft casting, gender, #MeToo, inclusiviteit en commercie. Toch moeten ze met elkaar verder. Zullen deze karakters met hun sterk uiteenlopende opvattingen elkaar ondanks alles weten te vinden?
